It’s been six years since the Aliso Canyon Gas Storage Facility blowout – the worst in US history that forced thousands to evacuate and was a climate and health disaster. And this week, November 18th, will mark the two years since Governor Newsom directed the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to shut down the facility for good.
But instead, the CPUC recently voted to expand gas storage at Aliso Canyon which will only put our communities and climate at greater risk.
Join us November 18 in Sacramento to tell Governor Newsom to Shut Aliso Down Now!
The CPUC is letting SoCalGas go on building fossil fuel infrastructure all over California: a super-emitter gas compression station with an elementary school in the blast zone and the Playa del Rey gas storage facility in Los Angeles that the LA City and County councils also asked to shut down.
Here’s details on the rally:
- When: Thursday, November 18 at 11 AM
