For the last few weeks we’ve been telling you about actions you can take to chip away at the pillars of corporate support that enable Trump’s fossil fueled fascist regime, and especially the secret police force known as ICE. Last night our friends at ACRE and May Day Strong hosted a call where we heard from incredible leaders and community members in Minnesota; If you missed it click here to watch a recording.
No matter where you live, this week is a great time to take action targeting three big corporations – Target, Hilton, and Enterprise. Why now? As we’ve told you, Congress passed a two-week extension in DHS funding, which means they run out of money again on February 13. Its very likely that there will be at least another small disruption in funding over this weekend, which includes Valentine’s day, and President’s day – two big holidays for corporations and retailers. That makes this week and this weekend the perfect time to disrupt the pillars of corporate support for the fossil fueled fascist regime.

Take Action At Target Stores
Target is Minnesota’s leading corporate citizen. It is the 4th largest employer in the state. Minnesota’s sports teams play in stadiums and jerseys with Target’s logo on them. But Target is not acting like a good corporate citizen. Target donated $1,000,000 to Trump’s inauguration, rolled back DEI initiatives, and witnesses have report Target regularly allows ICE to stage operations in its parking lots. In addition. On January 8th Customs and Border Protection assaulted and seized two US citizens while they were working a shift at the Richfield, MN Target store. They’ve let ICE use their parking lots to prepare for raids, and to surveil and terrorize communities.

- Print out this letter and choose a date and time to deliver it to the manager at your nearest Target store. Add it to the map here so others can join you!
- Do a SALT ICE action. Grab a few friends and buy salt, then return it. Keep going in a loop and encourage others to join you. This works best with a few friends — you can recruit more by putting your action on the map and sharing in your neighborhood Facebook and Signal groups!
- Part of a local organization? Recruit 10+ people to do a sit in and sing along. You can find the full guide here. And as always, add to the map to spread the word! Take Action at Hilton
If you came to our previous calls, you may have heard from Aru Shiney-Ajay of the Sunrise Movement. Young climate organizers with Sunrise have been making noise literally and figuratively – showing up to make noise at hotels where ICE is confirmed to stay, and booking a room at a Hilton hotel that we know is housing ICE, then canceling it in the free cancellation window. Take Action at Enterprise
Remember Tesla Takedown? Amazing regular people adopted local Tesla stores and started regular actions – many are still going strong! We’re doing the same thing with Enterprise. Last night we we heard from Kandace, Fran and J&J, who shared the strategy and (fun) approaches of taking action at this ICE enabler. This campaign is kicking off in earnest February 16th and the call is for you to join in and host an action at an Enterprise near you anywhere in the world.
