After yet another execution in Minneapolis, local allies are calling us to stand with Minnesota.
Just last week, January 23rd, dozens of unions, community and faith organizations called on every Minnesotan to take a stand with a unified, statewide pause in economic activity. More than 75,000 took to the streets of Minneapolis in -10 F weather to demonstrate their disapproval and many tens of thousands more rallied in solidarity.
But our fight continues. Saturday, January 24th, ICE publicly executed a man on a South Minneapolis street. Multiple observers were immediately detained, with their footage of the shooting confiscated. We need an even greater display of national solidarity in this moment.
Wherever you live in the US call your Senators right now and tell them “No more funding for ICE and Trumps Fossil fueled fascist regime“. Even if your Senators are Republicans. Even if you already called them this weekend. Even if they’ve already promised to vote no unless there are reforms. These bills will be up for a vote this week, and there is real movement and political debate with Republicans agreeing to demands for investigations and Democrats willing to consider abolishing ICE altogether. This is the moment to push.
If you don’t already have their numbers, call (202) 224-3121 and tell the operator where you live in order to get connected.
Then, join us and allies from ICE Out Minnesota, May Day Strong, Women’s March, and other groups to host an online non-violent direct action training — Tonight. This trainings is for people ready to act together — with care, discipline, and strategy. Register below and recruit other organizers ready to get trained:

Then, all week long we’re calling for Focused Non-Violent Direct Action as the Senate considers DHS funding and corporations like Target continue to side with this regime over their communities, the call is for sustained, disciplined non-violent direct action focused on pressure and accountability.
Especially if you’re in Nevada, Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Washington or Rhode Island – states with critical Senators who could be the swing votes on spending bills: Make a plan to visit your Senator’s local offices multiple times this week and demand action. Wherever you live, we’ll talk about plans to hold the corporate enablers of the regime accountable – companies like Target, Home Depot, Hilton, and Enterprise rental car – and create a crisis that compels them to take action.
We keep each other safe by organizing together and we have seen solidarity in action from Los Angeles, to Chicago, to Portland, to Charlotte, to New Orleans, and now Minneapolis – now is the time to start moving into action to show that we will not back down. Call your Senators and join us tonight to step into action and solidarity with Minnesota.
