We need to talk about what happened with election rigging last Saturday. On October 17, across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., we came together across nearly 3,000 events for No Kings: Vote Early – the largest single-day early voting activation in American history. Watch the livestream recording here
In cities, towns and neighborhoods everywhere, we turned people power into voter power – helping our neighbors make their plans to vote, cast their ballots early, and connect with local election protection resources. And Mark Zuckerburg’s meta tried to shut off the coverage by taking down the main no Kings Instagram account for hours, right when it was scheduled to stream that live event. The account was eventually restored, and the owners are demanding answers from Meta, but it’s part of a clear pattern of misinformation, voter intimidation, and other election interference.
On Wednesday, October 21 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT, join us to dive into the critical work of defending our elections! We’ll outline the final push for voter turnout and plan for what happens post-election: How we’re preparing for election enforcement and how you can gear up to protect our votes and ensure the results are respected.
We’ve been warning for months that the fossil fueled fascist Trump regime is a clear and present threat. They’re waging a coordinated effort to undermine our democracy by disrupting elections, blocking voters from their ballots, tossing out our votes, and denying official results. Not to mention wide ranging crack downs on protest and legal observers.
What happened on Saturday October 17 wasn’t an isolated incident. It was part of a fossil fueled fascist partnership between big tech and the regime. And there’s every reason to expect there will be more scenarios to respond to, and more reasons to take action soon.
We must ensure every valid vote is counted, certified, and protected. And we’ve been supporting actions, trainings, and mobilizations all year to help us get ready for whatever comes next. Now, we need to channeling the incredible energy from Saturday into total readiness for election defense and rapid response should it be required.
On this call, national leaders will cover:
- How to add nonpartisan election defense planning to early vote turnout support;
- What a rapid-response mobilization looks like if election officials or decision-makers attempt to interfere with the vote or the count;
- Concrete steps you can take locally to ensure your community is trained and ready to help protect the results through certification
We built historic momentum on October 17. Now, let’s make sure we’re organized to defend the vote. Join the call on Wednesday to dive into the critical work of defending our elections!
PS – If you’re ready to take action right now: Sign this pledge to host or attend an event in your community if a national rapid response mobilization is called after voting is done.
