This weekend, we say No Kings, and we’ve got friends everywhere. Trump and his fossil fueled fascist allies are saying we’re terrorists, that we hate America, that we’re all too old to matter anyway. They’re wrong about everything – except that many if not most of us are, in fact, anti-fascist.
Just like the comic book character Captain America, the scores of the greatest generation who fought and died to defeat fascism in world war II and the generations of Americans – white, black, immigrant, free, enslaved, or oppressed – who cited this country’s revolutionary roots and claims to liberty and justice for all.
There are more than 2,500 non violent events planned this weekend. And every single one of them has a security plan and coordinator just in case Trump and his fossil fueled fascist regime try to start something. October 3 — You’re not imagining it – As we gear up for the second No Kings day of action on October 18, the regime’s fossil fueled fascism is getting worse.
Not to unleash a fire house of bad news, but just in the last few days:
- The regime cut $8 billion in funding for climate and clean energy investments – but only in states that voted for his political opponents – while simultaneously giving $625 million and thousands of acres of our public lands to the coal industry.
- Shut down the federal government over a spending negotiation, and called it an “opportunity” to more fully enact Project 2025, the authoritarian, climate denying plan he once claimed to “know nothing about.”
- Summoned all the generals and admirals of the US military, and then told them to prepare to fight “the enemy within” and use US cities as “training grounds” – presumably for violent oppression of dissent.
- Raided an entire apartment building in Chicago with a helicopter and guns-drawn, masked federal agents where they arrested everyone inside including children, citizens, and bystanders. And then just today they made a ridiculously brazen video celebrating that illegal action and dispatched Gestapo head Kristi Noem to hold a press conference on the roof of a nearby ICE facility.
So, like we said, you’re not imagining it. But that’s all the more reason to be out, visible, and non-violently refusing to cooperate with this fossil fueled fascist regime right now. And it all makes our next No Kings day of Action on October 18 even more urgent and important.

Donald Trump thinks his rule is absolute. As we’ve been telling you all year, he is sending masked agents into our streets, terrorizing our communities. They are targeting immigrant families, profiling, arresting, and detaining people without warrants. Threatening to overtake elections. Gutting healthcare, environmental protections, and education when families need them most. Rigging maps to silence voters. Ignoring mass shootings at our schools and celebrating demagogues who call for violence. Driving up the cost of living while handing out massive giveaways to fossil fuels and billionaires, as families struggle.
On October 18, communities across the nation will rise up to make clear to President Trump that in this country, we don’t have kings or wannabe dictators. America belongs to us. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.
