In light of the recent upheavals in the banking sector and the greater concentration of deposits in the large Wall Street banks, now more than ever we need to demand that these banks use their power and funds responsibly. The banks must manage both financial risks and climate risks; indeed climate risks ARE financial risks. We need banks to invest safely, securely, and sustainably to have a safe planet.
Here’s what you can do TODAY to escalate the pressure on the big four banks to stop financing dirty fossil fuels.
- Join one of the roughly 100 events to “Stop Dirty Banks” TODAY! You can check the map for new and updated events, or just grab 1-2 friends, print out a sign, and head to your local bank branch! - Send a fax letter to Bank CEOs: Click on the link, edit the letter to the CEOs, and hit send. It may be easy for the CEOs to ignore lots of emails coming in to a bank email address.
