All this year, we’ve been talking about the unholy alliance between big tech, billionaires, and fossil fuels – the Oiligarchs, as we call them. We’ve rallied, we’ve marched, and now it’s time to take the fight directly to the billionaires. Three big cycles of action are coming up and we want you to join however you’re able:
- First, between Thursday, August 21st and Wednesday, August 27th, we’re joining and planning escalations directly targeting the largest corporations enabling authoritarianism – and the fat cat execs and board members sitting at their helms. - Those actions lead into and build support for the Labor Day Weekend, when allies across the labor movement are building the Workers over Billionaires day of action we’ve told you about. And, as a reminder, our organizing call is tonight, August 14, if you want to get more plugged into the labor day organizing plan.
- Finally, in mid September as world leaders convene in New York City for the United nation’s General Assembly, we’ll gather in NYC and everywhere to make billionaires pay on September 20, and celebrate the power of the sun and the end of fossil fuels on Sun Day September 21. It’s a lot of actions, I know. But starting next week there are already things planned targeting companies like Palantir, Tesla, and more. Rallies and marches can only take us so far. If we’re going to really fight authoritarianism, we will need to make it clear to that fossil fueled fascism comes at a steep cost.
As we advance into September, we’ll join shoulder to shoulder with workers to show the power of our labor (and our willingness to withhold it as we build towards a general strike on May 1, 2028). And we’ll join a global chorus with our demands:
🔥 Shut down billionaires. Fund our future.
✊ Shut down fascists. Protect migrants and the global majority.
🌍 Shut down polluters. Defend Mother Earth.
