The illegitimate court has struck down Roe v Wade. Join us in the streets

There’s not much time, so I’ll keep this short: Today the illegitimate Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade and set women’s rights and human rights in America back by more than 50 years.

We’re a direct action group, and aiding and abetting abortion rights is now a form of direct action.

We need you in the streets to show solidarity, and to take care of each other today and in the hard weeks and months ahead. This decision is just the start of our fight, and there will be more to do soon. For now, fine a rally near you – usually at 5pm local time – and show up for direct action, women and human rights.

Join us in the streets today to show that we’re prepared to take nonviolent direct action to protect women, our climate, and our common home.

We’re still waiting on some Supreme Court decisions related to climate change – specifically the West Virginia v EPA case. We’ll also need your help responding when that (probably bad) decision is handed down. But that’s not what’s important today.

What’s important today is that the US Supreme Court struck down the constitutional rights of every woman in America today, and rolled back more than 5 decades of law and precedent to do it. This is truly, clearly, a radical and illegitimate Supreme Court. Everything we do next depends on how we react in this moment.

Our name – 198 methods – is drawn from Gene Sharp’s classic nonviolence manual, which listed 198 methods of nonviolent action to create change and overthrow an oppressive regimes. Today, Americans of every age, gender, and orientation can add ‘aiding and abetting women’s rights’ to that list.

Join us in the streets today to show that we’re prepared to take nonviolent direct action to protect women, our climate, and our common home.
