The same frackers and polluters behind the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP), have announced a new project called “MVP Boost” to expand the capacity of the existing MVP.
The core of the MVP boost plan is to expand three West Virginia compressor stations, add a brand new super-sized compressor in Swann, Virginia, and pump up the pressure by roughly 30% (or 500,-600,000 dekatherms per day). All this added pressure on a pipeline that famously, catastrophically, failed hydrostatic pressure testing before FERC wrongly allowed it to go into service? That’s a bad idea and we only have a few days left to tell federal regulators to just say no.

We’ve been fighting versions of the MVP and MVP Boost for years, but on August 7, 2026, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) published a Notice of Availability of the Environmental Assessment for the Proposed Project which triggered a comment period with a deadline of Sept. 8th to comment on its contents.
